Before you sell
timber...
Tip #1: Have a 10-year
plan in mind.
The decisions you’re about to make will shape
your
forest for many years to come. Without a
mental picture of that
future before you sell,
you’re at the mercy of the market or circumstances
of
the moment.
For
example, if you plan to sell your land
someday, you’ll look differently at how
you sell
your timber than if you plan to leave the land to your
children.
If
wildlife is most important to you, you’ll cut
different trees than if financial
return is most
important.
The
idea here is for you to have no regrets.
